AUDIO JOBS FIELD RECORDING Field recording involves recording material “in the field”, which is usually outdoors. Field recoding engineers not only contribute to ethnomusicology studies and research but also record sounds for a variety of purposes including sound design, etc. Often field recording uses binaural microphones for the most accurate stereo imagery. While analog field recording utilized special miniature tape decks (notably from a company called “Nagra”) these days digital technology has made field recording much more convenient. |
