Although these days sound editing is done in everyone's computer and everyone does it themselves, once upon a time there such a thing as an Editor who was called in to perform edits to either shorten the song for radio play or create a dance version using parts of the song (and beats) as source material.

Amazing Editors that could cut up a recording and re-arrange the carefully sized pieces into a groove were able to give a lame song new life on the dance floor. Some of the best included The Latin Rascals (Tony and Albert) and Chep Nunez.
