DISTORTION

Once upon a time, a loud sound was sent through a tube amplifier.  The sound was much louder than the tube was created to handle, so it was overloaded, distorted, fuzzy and nasty….and it was good.

These days, people achieve this sound through various ways ranging from dedicated distortion pedals to actually overloading equipment that is not intended to distort.
